There have been more unused files found in the game related to the Tankman as a playable character, but the Daddy Dearest icon could probably just be a placeholder for BF's icon before it was finished. I'm unsure if the devs have any plans for GF's parents to be playable really and I sort of doubt they will be.

Yeah, maybe you are right when it comes to Daddy Dearest since I took a look at the finished character select where BF is in the same place DD's. But I wonder why they put him instead of BF. It would be cool though a campaign as DD and part of me would like to believe it. Maybe an alternative gameplay where he beats BF, who knows.

Thanks for the 'water reminder'.
I used to include them myself but at some point I was worried I might come off as 'too naggy'. It was only much later that I learned that a certain subset of people 'already' view 'anyone' as 'too naggy' who offers even the slightest hint of critique or advice... ;)

You are welcome.
Sadly those type of people will always be present no matter the type of site you are in. Even in sites like this one where constructive criticism is encouraged there will be people unwilling to listen, but I tend to ignore them and move on. I find more sever those who apparently take your advice and then never apply it.

@ShangXian Game dev is kinda weird, a lot of random files get used for random things from what I've seen. Sometimes wrong graphics are used as placeholders when there aren't any finished graphics they can use at that point in time. It's why a lot of games have simple "dummy" files to be used for testing purposes. I'm no expert on game dev btw, but that is what I think is going on here with the DD icon being used for BF. I'd recommend checking out the website The Cutting Room Floor, it details all kinds of unused files and prerelease builds in many games, it even has an article on FNF if you're interested.

Unfortunately I really don't think DD would be playable even if it could be cool, it seems most of the planned characters will be exclusively NG crossover characters that appear in the game during weeks, but since DD is original to FNF, it's unlikely he will be playable. Once again take what I'm saying with a grain of salt though as I am not a game dev and not part of the Funkin' dev team.

EDIT: @ShangXian Also if you do decide to check The Cutting Room Floor out I'd love for you to PM me about anything interesting you find! :D

Looking forward to seeing what you are cooking up for Pico Day :D A neat concept, doing a trio to celebrate the day.

Also didn't know you were learning Russian, that's really cool! ^-^ As weird as their social media has now become XD Duolingo is still a good app to at least practice languages you're learning. And from there, perhaps watching news or YouTubers who speak the language is good to hear how it is spoken and helps with keeping familiar with the lingo ^-^

Hehehe, let's just say that a sentence said by Tom Fulp gave me the idea to re-think the tribute to the trio.

As for Duolingo I am not a fan of those language apps, I prefer a much more academic approach with a solid schedule combined with a more easy-going, laid approach. Languages are best learnt when you forget you are learning them. If you want to discover a bit more about my "Russian Diaries" here the links:

Take your time because some can be a bit long in terms of info^^

I see ur a Chad who uses the ScepterDPinoy emotes :)

I love those emotes, they are one of my favourite^^

@ShangXian Oooh now I am curious o.o Can't wait ^-^

That's fair :) I've learnt it only works when you approaching learning the way that works best for you! It sounds like you've managed a method that works best for you, and will allow you to enjoy learning the language, rather than feeling forced or annoyed to learn it

Very interesting read here o.o I've read the first two so far, and I like the notes and approach to reading through the text and understanding the language. I've always been intimidated with Russia, given having to learn new letters and writing o.o Looks very daunting, but can also be a nice form of expression from a creative, artistic view ^-^

I feel generous to show you the sneak peek of part two:

Yeah, I enjoy learning languages in both rigid academic way and more personalized way (usually in the shape of visiting forums, websites, movies etc. in the language I'm currently learning).

Russian language has three main hard cores that make it challenging: numerals, verbs of motions, and genitive (plural). In terms of declensions I've found it easier than Serbo-Croatian (yes, I've studied it but now it's a bit rusty) if you apply a method which starts by NOT learning tables with all cases already shown. Start with verbs that accompany said cases, create schemes (maybe with the help of colours) that simplify declensions' endings, learn possessive adjectives, interrogative pronouns, personal pronouns since verbs that follow a case answer specific questions whose personal pronouns are flexed.

Compared to Serbo-Croatian, and from what a friend of mine told me about Macedonian and Bulgarian, Russian has a much more simplified, and so easier, verbal system. Besides verbs of motions, tenses are extremely easy to memorize (seriously only present, future and past) and with lots of exercises, patience and practice they become part of you. Ofc there are participles but they are not a big deal.

I think that it's way less intimidating when one approaches it without prejudices, ofc it's not easy but I've seen way more difficult languages (*coughs in Hungarian*) and I personally recommend it as first Slavic language. One day I would like to study Ukrainian to see differences and similarities, plus it sounds beautiful.

I forgot to add that as for the alphabet starting with few letters may help to get one accustomed to the new writing system. Maybe the fact that I've studied Ancient Greek helped me to memorize letters more easily. In fact I've learnt it 11 years ago and after all this time I still remembered a good 85% of it.

@ShangXian Ooooh -even more curious now- It's going to be a big piece, from what I can see ^-^

I didn't even consider the different regions, that must make it a bit more challenging to get a full grasp on the language o.o But it's nice to know there is a sort of simpler, universal form that people can learn first and then go in depth on at least! And it sounds like you've found the best approach, with how to couple verbs, adjectives in a way that makes it understandable. It's all about being able to apply a language - which I will admit is where learning apps aren't the best, as they work better for parrot learning rather than applications. I recommend them for practice, but you have to be learning the language outside of them if you really want the best chance of getting to grips with the vernacular.

That is true. There are definitely a lot more challenging languages out there XD And it's good to approach it with an open mind.

Oh wow, that sounds incredibly challenging! o.o I tried going over Latin once and...yeah nah XD I need a course for it, I can't even begin to try learning that on my own!

Can’t wait to see what you’re cooking up for Pico day!

Honestly me too, I am taking my time to work on each piece. I think I might change Pico's pose too since other two characters are shown in full bodies and I am already thinking about the environment in which insert Pico.

Thanks^^
