If you know Sardinian folklore you already know the creature depicted here but for now I won't say much. This will be the first of some posts about Italian folklore (I plan talking about other countries folklore too) inspired by the YT channel Paranormal Zone. I originally made these journals when I had my DA account but now that's gone I want to migrate them here.
Jesus on toast, I had no idea... This wouldn't be news if I was into furry culture. Yeah, hacking/cracking is still a problem today. Not to get political but the Trump campaign was recently targeted, most likely by state-supported guys in Iran. More generally, it has been estimated that around 40% of all major data leaks are due to "employee error". In the last 27-ish years technology has changed completely...what hasn't changed is in every industry, there are still lazy people who only do enough to keep getting paid.
As for DeviantArt, I was there in the early to mid-2000's. In early '08 life got busy so I stopped posting. Only when I returned two years ago did I catch up to what happened. A few of my old accounts are still up...for my first account, I lost the password to it _&_ to the e-mail address it was linked to. Of course their AI engine was trained on everything posted there.
I discovered the 2016 incident some years ago when I didn't have any account there because I like to get informed about stuff even if I am not into that culturally speaking. I like drawing anthro animals but they are not the only subject I want to focus, I prefer to be a shapeshifter in terms or artistic themes, lol.

Totally agree, I remember reading a hacker forum thread that the real weak element in the internet chain security will always be the human being. And do not forget that still many people who are digital immigrants have important jobs in the field of informatics. I also noticed that even at school teachers tend to give very basic info about internet security (at least where I live), concepts like password manager, threat model etc. are still alien in schools.
Yeah, I wouldn't have complained if DA administrators had announced this first and asked if people wanted to participate (I would have because I like science and technology), but instead they decided to do it without asking for other people's opinions. And it's not the first time they do stuff without listening to their audience. I have lots of respect for those who decided to stay despite this.

You migrated here from DA? Cool...quite a few people have. I was thinking about returning there; after I showed up & saw how it had gone downhill, I started looking for other platforms. That's how I discovered NG.

DA was my home for 9 years and after the mess they did with AI I got fed up and searched for alternatives. I went to Furaffinity since they have a no AI policy but after discovering the wonders of Newgrounds I will stay here and delete my FA account (I met some really cool people there so I will be sad only for that) especially after the "hacking" incident happened 10 days ago. The site still doesn't have 2FA implemented and back in 2016 it got hacked really bad that 1,2M emails, passwords and other personal data were compromised after the source code of the site was leaked. It's unacceptable that a website in 2024 still doesn't have 2FA as option to secure your account but I can't pretend too much for a website design like s**** in terms of internet security. Compared to what NG has to offer me FA doesn't interest me anymore but even DA wouldn't interest me if it still maintained the quality it had.

A.I. wasn't the only thing that made me decide to go elsewhere, the lack of moderation is another factor (I will never forget those +80 groups destroyed by a user who entered as contributor or co-founder and posted gore images for the sake of shock value).
