Absolutely disgusting that a user like this has such a huge platform on NG, and will continue to get away with using and abusing women if nothing is done about it. This isn't what newgrounds is about. Newgrounds is meant to be a safe inclusive space for everyone

Agreed and sadly people like them can continue the abuse and get away with this by taking advantage of others' ignorance of the events. I didn't know any of this if it weren't for UNCLEREGZ's blog which made me aware of a serious problem deserving to be tackled.
Yeah, NG is Everything by Everyone for a reason and its core reason is safety, inclusion, self-expression and creativity.

This is an absolutely incredible and empathetic response to such a gross and abhorrent situation. I applaud you that your first response was education with the goal of prevention.

I'm glad to hear this, I tried with my small knowledge and will to help as much as I can. After discovering this nasty shit, I couldn't ignore the fact that I had to do something, even small I know, but necessary, mandatory almost. It was a categorical imperative (kategorischer Imperativ in German) acting this way. I can't ignore this when people's sufferings are at stake. Thanks for reading, have a serene day.

Thanks for sharing this information!

No problem, I'm glad I could provide some information. Sadly the character limit prevented me from adding further elements but I won't rule out I might write additional posts in the future because I would like to touch as many topics as possible.

Honestly reading through this made me think of some of the abusive relationships/friendships that I was on the receiving end of before I stopped feeling sorry for myself and started to cut ties with people who weren't good for my mental health.

Cheers for the informative post and going this far to inform users on here regarding these things. Hopefully this helps people get out of shitty situations. One thing that needs to be emphasized to victims that they are never alone.

Another important element I can't stress enough is the importance of forgiving yourself after these traumatic experiences. I say so, because forgiving myself after cutting ties with a toxic friendship I had several years ago deeply helped me a lot in moving on along with the support of my wonderful friends I met online on DeviantART.

I hope more people get educated not only from this simple blog which is not even that complete because I wanted to add more stuff but character limit bit me in the ass, but also from other sources some of them linked in this blog itself. No one deserves to be abused.

Good read.

Thanks

Most popular people always tend to abuse, heck do other bad things, it's always a prediction and it's sad.

Yeah and this gives them the power to exert even more power, but remember also that abuse doesn't need popularity to be enacted. Abuse can take place in many places and circumstances, the very first instance of abuse being the domestic home. I always remember all those people who had endure abuse in silence during the past centuries and didn't have anyone to help them, in a way this post is meant to honour their legacy. They didn't have psychology nor concrete help, they just had to bear and bring the trauma with them until their last moments of life. May all victims of abuse of all centuries rest in peace, may their memory be honoured and respected.

That's why I shouldn't always believe people in internet and IRL!

Yeah, like I always say: Internet is an extension of real life. Be always careful and vigilant. Stay safe!

Absolutely disgusting.

What would Tom Fulp do?

Agreed and this should be brought to his attention because it's unacceptable a person with such influence keeps damaging people.

Wait! I have an idea. How about I contact Tom to delete Wanda's account? I promise I will share the evidence people gathered. :)

Bring this to Tom's attention in order he can take action? I agree. I can contact him privately and send the evidence with the link to the original blog.

@ShangXian

Contacted Tom, hope they will be deleted from Newgrounds and also be behind bars forever.

@CrimsonKero

I contacted him, hope he's siding with us and not an abuser.

I contacted him too because I feel a moral obligation to bring this to his attention. Thank you for your kindness, SkilledFanBoy :)

@ShangXian

Anytime. :3

Thanks for sharing! Great post

No problem. It was a personal mandatory duty to do so. These people deserve to be respected for what they had to endure. But as I said in the blog, I thank UNCLEREGZ if I discovered this nasty shit.

Dammit, I honestly wish I could like pin or bookmark this cuz I for one HAVE dealt with a toxic relationship myself. I won't be mentioning them by name, but I personally have removed and edit various pieces of art in the past to straight-up remove them as they SERIOUSLY harmed me and my friends within the Jackbox Games community. My friends should know who this is by now, tho this guy DID make a Newgrounds account which I'll report soon enough. I really appreciate you making a post with all this vital information so it could help people avoid getting hurt and those who did get hurt would NEVER repeat those mistakes ever again

Feel free to bookmark this, post in other socials and even copy-paste and save it as PDF for future references. The more people know about this, the better. And I'm very sorry you had to deal with abuse too. I hope you and your friends are doing fine now. It's important to be educated because knowledge is the best weapon against ignorance and fear, but it's also vital to always keep updated to the many techniques abusers use since they can evolve rapidly, developing new tools of abuse. Our relationship with abusers is like bacteriophages with bacteria, and we, just like bacteria, must evolve rapidly too. Always have a threat model. Best of wishes and have a serene day!

@ShangXian Same to you and thanks for helping to keep my home site safe, there should be more people like you in the world <3

Thanks for posting this, it's a great primer. Online communities like this seem to be where this information needs to be spread around the most, especially since a lot of people gather here who are statistically more likely to be abused. The internet can make people into abusers themselves as well by encouraging the wrong traits. I hope that can be covered as well eventually.

No problem. It was a categorical imperative to do so for two main reasons: share this and make people aware of it, and educate with my small knowledge and personal experience about a topic that even educational system deeply fails to address. Because of character limit I couldn't touch more topics I had to make it more focused about what, how and which questions on a more general level. Next time I would like to make a more nerdy article about statistics and other possible cultural elements because not all cultures encourage the surge of narcissistic and abusive traits, some (i.e. Western cultures) are more abusive-prone than others (i.e. Neolithic cultures).

Internet is a tool that can amplify these personality traits, especially social media, so it's another thing I would like to touch in future. Thanks for reading :)

There is something "kind of related" to the article, that ShangXian already touched on in their introduction that I'd like to comment on: The one time where I went the trough the trouble to download an 'accusatory google doc', it was the kind of accusation that falls apart while you read it. (Didn't stop others _agressively_ "supporting" the self-appointed "victim", though.)

The post referred to in the beginning of this article does 'not' summarize the events - it merely refers to "The Wandaboy situation" (as if I knew who that was to begin with) and links to a document on google. As somebody who blocks all google-domains, I stopped paying attention after finishing the article.
My only reaction was "Well, I cannot verify this anyway, but the article was published 5 minutes ago, so let's just forward this to support and hope they can sort out what needs sorting out."

Nowadays, I am typically completely uncaring in those cases. Not because I am devoid of emotion; but because, most of the time, those who 'might' have something to say fail at 'making me' care. The following is general criticism I could direct at 95% of the NG community: If something you want to talk about is important to you, see to it that the way you talk about it reflects that or accept that you will not raise as much attention as the topic would have deserved.

I did not want to 'berate' anybody, but a pattern I have noticed is that people who want to speak out on unacceptable behavior are almost always doing a bad job of raising interest. Maybe that's 'how potential victims are chosen' - but lots of others seem to suffer from the same issues.

If what I am gathering from ShangXian reaction to the events is accurate, the reactions and comments to the 'original post' should have been... let's just say "more plentiful".

(Oh, and also: Really expressive art you drew there, ShangXian!)

@M-kirbs You can literally bookmark this post in your browser or download it in its entirety.

If you want to feature it for others to see, you could add it as the 10th link to your NG profile. (The limit is 10 links, though.)

Wish I could saved this somewhere, the least I could do is bookmark this page.

You can bookmark this in your browser or even copy-paste it in a Word document, convert it into PDF and save it if you want. Or you can even feature in one of the 10 possible links to your NG profile. Thank you for reading though.

@Yatsufusa Ah, noted!
