good luck to italy man. really praying for u guys here

Thanks, I'm trying to convince as many people as possible to go vote, (even "No" is better than not going because at least you voted), or alternatively I am explaining them in a simple manner, very similar to this blog, so they have a clear idea on how it is about. Many people still don't fully understand what it is about.

Thanks for this nice explanation! I am sending my votes in today. The only one I am not sure about is that last question - the other four seem to be labor provisions and I am not sure what they are trying to accomplish with the last one. Does that mean anyone who came to the country illegally and has been present there for five years is a citizen?

No, the question about Italian citizenship is about all those immigrants who live regularly in Italy. The question proposes to halve the time of legal residence in Italy from 10 to 5 years for the application of Italian citizenship, restoring a requirement introduced in 1865 and remained unchanged until 1992. In detail, article 9 of law no. 91/1992 is modified in case this question manages to get enough "yes", which increased the term of uninterrupted legal residence in Italy for the purposes of submitting the application for the granting of citizenship by adults.

The referendum on Italian Citizenship does not modify the other requirements required to obtain citizenship such as: knowledge of the Italian language, possession of a substantial income in recent years, a clean criminal record, compliance with tax obligations, the absence of impediments related to the security of the Republic.

The last question is conceptually linked to the first fours in terms protection of people's rights whether it's about work or living legally in a country and wanting to be part of it as citizen of said country.
